Day 59 — Mornings with God
Wisdom That Comes From Above
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
James 3:17
James describes God's wisdom with words that read like a self-portrait of a well-formed character: pure, peaceable, gentle, full of mercy. Not a cold, calculating wisdom — a warm, relational wisdom that produces visible fruit.
When you ask God for wisdom, this is what begins to take shape in you. A different posture in the face of hard situations — calmer, fairer, more able to listen before reacting, fuller of mercy toward other people's flaws.
This doesn't happen all at once. It's the work of the Holy Spirit over time, sometimes very slowly. But the seed is planted in mornings like this one — when you choose to begin with God instead of beginning with the noise.
Ask for this wisdom from above with confidence. It's available, it was promised, and the Father gives it freely.
Prayer
Lord, I want the wisdom that comes from You — peaceable, merciful, true. Form in me, over time, the character this wisdom produces. Amen.
