Day 27Mornings with God

Beginning Again

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Beginning again isn't admitting defeat. It's recognizing that God is bigger than whatever you've left behind.

Some people can't bring themselves to start over because they believe they don't deserve to. That they've already missed their chance. That too much time has passed. That the mistake was too big.

But God doesn't base new beginnings on merit. He gives them because creating new things is His very nature. Because He refuses to let His son's or daughter's story end in defeat.

A fresh start doesn't erase what happened. It doesn't pretend it didn't hurt. It simply places a period at the end of one sentence and begins a new paragraph.

And that new paragraph can be more beautiful. It can be freer. It can be everything you always wanted to be but thought it was too late for.

This morning is an invitation. Not to forget — but to begin differently. With God out in front, not the past in the rearview mirror.

Will you accept the invitation?

Prayer

Lord, I accept the new beginning You are offering me. Not because I've earned it, but because You are faithful. Help me take the next step without looking back so much. Amen.
