Day 35 — Healing for the Heart
When It Comes Back, Hand It Over Again
“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22
There are days when you think you've already given everything to God — and suddenly, without warning, the pain comes back in full force. A song, a scent, a date, and there you are on the floor again. Don't be alarmed by this, and don't think you're back at square one. Healing isn't never feeling it again; it's knowing where to run when you do. Today's verse doesn't promise you'll never stumble again — it promises that when you cast your care on God, He sustains you so you won't be shaken for good. You may sway; you won't fall. So when the wave comes back — and it might — do the one thing that works: hand it over again. Not with shame, not with frustration, but like someone who already knows the way back to the arms that sustain. However many times it comes, hand it over that many times. He always holds you.
Prayer
Lord, when the pain returns unexpectedly, remind me to run to You again. Cast my cares upon Your shoulders. Sustain me so I won't fall. Amen.
