Day 14Healing for the Heart

God Is Doing Something You Cannot See

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:19

When we're in the middle of pain, it's almost impossible to see that something good could be being born. Everything feels like a desert — dry, still. But God has a promise for the arid places of life: He makes a way where there is no way and opens a river in the middle of the wasteland. Notice: He doesn't promise to act only where the ground is fertile. It's precisely in the desert — the place where you swear nothing grows — that He announces the new thing. Maybe you can't perceive it yet. God's new things often begin underground, at the root, before they ever appear. The fact that you don't see it yet doesn't mean He isn't working. Today, even without signs, choose to believe: your desert will not last forever, because God is already digging rivers in it.

Prayer

Father, I can't see anything being born, but I believe You are working in the dark. Open a way in my desert. I wait on You. Amen.
