Day 11 — Healing for the Heart
Pain Has No Deadline
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven... a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1,4
Has someone ever told you, "it's been so long, haven't you gotten over it yet?" As if pain had a timer, an expiration date after which you should simply be fine. But God, who created time, knows that healing does not run on clocks. There is a time to weep — and it does not last exactly as long as others think it should. You are not behind in your grief. There is no passing grade for sadness. Every heart heals at its own pace, and God honors yours. Don't blame yourself for still feeling what you feel. Don't compare yourself to those who seem to have moved on faster. Your time to weep is your own, and God is in it with you, without impatience. And when the time to laugh again comes — and it will — it will be genuine, not forced. Trust His clock, not other people's.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to honor my own time of healing without self-judgment. You are not in a hurry with me. Help me trust Your timing, not other people's. Amen.
