Day 83Strength for Mothers

In Everything, Gratitude

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Gratitude isn't pretending everything is fine. It isn't closing your eyes to the hardship or forcing a smile. Gratitude is the decision to seek God even in what hurts — and to find something to be thankful for, even in the chaos.

And in motherhood, there is so much to be grateful for that we sometimes forget to stop and notice. The smell of a child's hair. The unexpected laughter in the middle of a hard afternoon. The quick "goodnight, Mom" said in passing. The short but real hug. The life pulsing inside the house — with noise, with mess, with love.

"In every thing" — not just in what's easy, but in everything. That includes the hard seasons, the children who push back, the nights that weigh heavy. Inside all of it, there is the hand of God. And recognizing that hand is what we call gratitude.

Tonight, before you go to bed, name three things you're grateful for. Simple, small things. And let that gesture change the climate of your heart.

Prayer

Father, teach me to be grateful in everything, not only in the easy. May my eyes learn to find You in every detail of my life as a mother. Amen.
