Day 68Strength for Mothers

A Mother's Intercession Never Stops

Pray without ceasing.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

This might sound like an impossible verse. "Without ceasing"? How is that even possible? You have a house to run, work, children, obligations. You can't stay on your knees all day.

But praying without ceasing doesn't mean staying on your knees twenty-four hours a day. It means living with your heart turned toward God. It means that in the middle of traffic, you whispered your child's name to God. That at the peak of stress, you murmured, "Help me, Lord." That before falling asleep, you handed each of them over to Him.

This continual prayer is the posture of a mother who has understood she can't do it alone — and doesn't need to. God doesn't ask for elegance. He doesn't ask for beautiful vocabulary. He asks for an open, trusting heart.

You can intercede for your children while washing the dishes. While driving. While waiting in line. The mother who prays without ceasing isn't always in the temple — she has turned her whole life into a prayer.

Prayer

Lord, make my life a constant prayer. May every thought about my children become an act of surrender into Your hands. Amen.
