Day 65Strength for Mothers

A Distant Child

And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

Jeremiah 31:17

Distance isn't only geographical. Some children live in the same house yet seem to live in another world. Some children have moved out and taken with them a silence that weighs heavier than any physical absence. Some relationships have grown cold, and you're not quite sure how you got here.

But God speaks directly to this. "Thy children shall come again." Not "maybe." Not "if everything works out." It's a promise of return, of restoration — that distance is not the last word.

You cannot force a child to draw near. But you can keep being a safe harbor for when he's ready to come back. You can pray with faithfulness. You can keep the door open — not as pressure, but as love. And you can trust that God is at work even across the distance, even in the silence, even in the years that feel lost.

The seed you planted has not disappeared. It's still there, waiting for the right time to sprout. Don't lose heart.

Prayer

Father, I bring my distant child before Your presence. Go where I cannot go. Make the way back shorter. I trust You. Amen.
