Day 39 — Strength for Mothers
The Mouth that Teaches with Kindness
“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”
Proverbs 31:26
The woman of Proverbs 31 is not known for shouting or controlling with harshness. She is known for wisdom on her lips and kindness on her tongue. That says a lot about the kind of mother God values. Not the one who argues the most, not the strictest, but the one with wisdom in her words. You know all too well how hard that is to keep up. At the end of a long day, with a crying child, a messy house, and exhaustion weighing on your shoulders — it is very hard to speak with wisdom and kindness. But that is exactly the kind of thing we cannot manage on our own. It is God's grace working through you. Ask for that grace. Ask Him to fill your mouth with the right words, at the right moment, in the right tone. He is faithful to answer that prayer.
Prayer
God, fill my mouth with wisdom. May the law of kindness govern my tongue inside my home. May my children remember me for words that did good, not words that wounded. Amen.
