Day 35Strength for Mothers

Discipline Is Love with Firmness

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Proverbs 29:17

Disciplining a child is one of the hardest things there is. It's not hard because it's cruel — it's hard because it requires patience you sometimes don't feel you have, consistency on the days you're worn out, and firm love even when the child cries or pleads. But God's Word makes it clear: to correct is to care. The mother who avoids every conflict, who never says no, who gives in to everything out of exhaustion — is not serving her child well. You are teaching them to live within limits, and that is an enormous gift for their adult life. Ask God for wisdom to discipline with love and without anger. To be firm without being harsh. To correct without destroying. That wisdom isn't automatic — it comes from above, and He gives it generously to those who ask.

Prayer

God, give me wisdom to discipline my children the right way — with love, with firmness, without losing tenderness. May my correction always point them to You and never push them away from me. Amen.
