Day 74Marriage Devotional

When It Feels Like Too Much

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.

Isaiah 40:31

Sometimes life piles everything on at once: trouble at work, strain in the relationship, health that worries you, family that demands. And you look at your marriage and think: I have nothing left to give.

That's an important sign — not of weakness, but that you need to go renew your strength in the right place. Not in more productivity, not in a quick fix — but in God.

"Waiting on the Lord" is not passivity. It's actively choosing to trust in the One who never grows tired. It's stopping, breathing, opening your hands, and saying, "I cannot carry this on my own." And then letting Him act.

The eagle's wings Isaiah describes are not for those who never grew weary — they are for those who did, who waited on God, and were renewed. You can be that person. Your marriage can be renewed.

Today, before anything else: wait on the Lord.

Prayer

Father, I am exhausted. My strength is gone. But I know You never grow weary. Renew my strength as I wait on You, and sustain my marriage with the power that comes only from You. Amen.
