Day 72Marriage Devotional

Do Not Give Up

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:9

There is a specific kind of tiredness in marriage — not from work, but from trying. From doing good without seeing a response. From being patient without receiving patience in return. From offering love and not feeling it come back. That tiredness is real, and it can be dangerous if it goes unrecognized.

But Galatians 6:9 holds a promise that needs to be kept in your heart: in due season we shall reap. Not immediately, not when you think it should happen, but at the right time. The good you sow in your marriage — even when you're exhausted — is never wasted.

Do not faint. That is the instruction, and it isn't a simple one. But there is a difference between resting (necessary and healthy) and giving up (which the promise asks us not to do). You can be utterly worn out today and still not be giving up. That matters.

Ask God for strength to sow for just one more day. And trust the harvest He has promised.

Prayer

Lord, I am tired of trying. But I don't want to give up. Give me strength to sow good in my marriage for one more day, and help me trust that You take care of the timing of the harvest. Amen.
