Day 1 — Marriage Devotional
A Gift from Above
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
Genesis 2:18
Before you even understood what loneliness was, God had already thought of you. He looked at the man He had created and said: this cannot be, he needs someone. And then you came — not as an accident, not as an improvised solution, but as a thoughtful answer to the heart of God.
Your marriage was born from that divine intention. It wasn't just your choice or your spouse's. It was God weaving together two paths that would meet. On the days when marriage feels heavy, when the words come out wrong and weariness speaks louder than love, return to this truth: you were given to him as a gift, and he was given to you. That doesn't fix everything, but it changes the starting point. You are not alone in this story — God has been in it from the beginning.
Prayer
Father, thank You for thinking of me before I existed. Help me see my marriage through Your eyes — as a gift, not a burden. May I care for it with gratitude and faith. Amen.
