Day 60 — Peace in Place of Anxiety
Go in Peace
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly... Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
We've reached the last day — but not the end of peace, rather the beginning of a new way of living. Over these sixty days, you've learned to recognize anxiety without condemning yourself, to hand over to God what isn't yours to carry, to receive a peace that surpasses understanding, to live one day at a time, and to rest in his faithfulness. But you may still have fears, and that's all right — peace isn't never feeling anything again; it's knowing whom to run to when the feeling returns. And look at the promise we part with. It isn't your determination that will keep you at peace; it's 'the very God of peace' who will do the work in you. And 'faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.' The responsibility for keeping you belongs to him, and he is faithful to carry it out. You don't have to walk through life alone or hold it all together perfectly. You only need to keep returning to the arms of the God of peace, every day, for the rest of your life. Close this book, but not the door. Go — not without any fear at all, but accompanied. Go in peace. God goes with you, and he is faithful.
Prayer
God of peace, thank You for these days with You. Continue Your work in me, for I know You are faithful. I go — not alone, but in Your peace. Hold my hand forever. Amen.
