Day 36 — Peace in Place of Anxiety
Wait on Him and Renew Your Strength
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength... they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
When you live in a constant state of anxiety, exhaustion becomes constant too — because the mind never stops, and spending energy on fear all day wears anyone out. You wake up already tired. The solution the world offers is "try harder," but that only exhausts you further. Today's word points to another way: strength doesn't come from trying harder; it comes from waiting on the Lord. "Waiting" here is more than standing still — it's placing your trust, resting your hope in God, like someone who hands over the weight and stays in his presence. And the result is a renewal that doesn't come from you: strength exchanged, breath restored, the ability to keep going without collapsing. Notice the progression — soar, run, walk. Some days are for soaring; some days victory is just managing to walk without falling. And for all of them, there is strength in God. Today, instead of squeezing out the last drops of your own energy, stop and wait on him. Rest in God's presence before you go on. It's there, not in the rushing, that strength is renewed.
Prayer
Father, I am tired of struggling on my own. I wait on You. Renew my strength, restore my breath, and give me grace to keep going without fainting. Amen.
