Day 71 — Young Woman of Faith
The Price of Consistency
“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:”
1 Corinthians 9:27a
Consistency isn't glamorous. No one posts a photo of waking up early to study while sleepy, of choosing not to procrastinate when they felt lazy, of saying no to a distraction in order to finish what they started.
But that's exactly where character is built.
Paul says he keeps his own body under control. That's not punishment — it's government. It's the decision that what he wants in the long run matters more than what he feels in the short run.
You have that power too. To say yes to what matters and no to what only feels urgent in the moment.
Every time you choose discipline over impulse, you're building something. Not just skill — character. And character is what will hold you up when motivation fades, when circumstances change, when things get hard.
The consistent girl isn't the one who never failed. She's the one who came back every time she failed.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be consistent, especially when I don't feel like it. May I govern my impulses with wisdom and perseverance. Amen.
