Day 62Young Woman of Faith

The Race Worth Running

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

1 Corinthians 9:24

Paul uses an image everyone understands: the race. Whoever wants to win doesn't train once in a while, doesn't rest just because they feel lazy, doesn't quit halfway through. Whoever wants to win is consistent, even on the days with no excitement.

You don't need to be perfect. But you need to be consistent. And there's a huge difference between the two.

Perfect is someone who never fails. Consistent is someone who keeps going, even after failing.

Your race with God — in your studies, in your faith, in your character — doesn't end when you stumble. It ends when you decide to stop getting back up. And as long as you keep getting back up, you're still running.

Today might be a tiring day. But tired and moving is still moving. Take a deep breath, ask God for strength, and take the next step. Just one. Then the other.

The finish line exists. And God is waiting for you there — with love, not with judgment.

Prayer

Lord, when the race grows heavy, give me strength to keep going. May I not compare my pace to anyone else's, but run with my eyes fixed on You. Amen.
