Day 59 — Young Woman of Faith
Different on Purpose
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
1 Peter 2:9
Have you ever felt "different" in a way that seemed bad? Like you didn't fit in, like your values were strange, like what you believe was too outdated for the world you live in?
This verse turns all of that around. You were chosen — not by accident, not by merit, but by calling. You are different on purpose. And that difference isn't a flaw that needs fixing — it's the mark of someone who belongs to God.
"A peculiar people" — you were bought. You have an owner who isn't public opinion, isn't popular culture, isn't whatever is trending. You belong to Someone who called you out of darkness into His light.
And that calling comes with a mission: to proclaim His praises. Not necessarily with posters in the streets. With your life. With the way you act when no one is watching. With the peace you carry in the middle of chaos.
Prayer
Lord, may I embrace my difference as an identity, not as a shame. May I live like someone who belongs to You — and may that be visible in my everyday life. Amen.
