Day 50 — Young Woman of Faith
The Light of the World
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
Matthew 5:14
Light doesn't need to announce itself. When it enters a dark room, it simply acts. And people notice — not because of advertising, but because of contrast.
You are the light of the world. You're not becoming it — you already are. That's the identity Jesus gave you. What changes is whether you're letting it shine or hiding it under a basket of fear, of shame, of "who am I to do this?"
Being light doesn't mean being perfect in front of everyone. It means being genuine. It means that when people are near you, they sense something different — a warmth, a peace, an honesty that isn't common. That's not charisma — it's the Holy Spirit dwelling in someone who isn't ashamed to belong to God.
Sometimes you'll light up a room just by being there. Without preaching, without giving a speech. Just by being who you are in Christ. And that will make a difference in lives you may never even know about.
Prayer
Lord, may I not hide the light You have placed in me. Wherever I go, may people sense Your presence through me — without my having to force anything. Amen.
