Day 47Young Woman of Faith

Don't Conform to the World

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:2

The world shouts a lot. It shouts about who you should be, what you should want, what you should look like, what you should value. And the shouting is so constant that, without realizing it, you start to think it's your own voice.

Paul doesn't say "ignore the world." He says: don't be conformed to it. There's a difference between being in the world and being shaped by it. You can be in the same environment as everyone else and think differently, feel differently, choose differently — because what shapes you is the word of God, not the opinion of the majority.

Transformation begins in the mind. What you believe about yourself, about what's good, about what's worth it — what's shaping that? What you spend hours consuming every day, or the presence of God?

You don't need to leave social media, run from the world, isolate yourself. You need roots deep enough that the wind can't knock you down.

Prayer

Father, renew my mind. May Your word shape my thinking more than the noise of the world around me. May I think differently because I know You. Amen.
