Day 32 — Young Woman of Faith
Not Awakening Love Before Its Time
“I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.”
Song of Solomon 2:7
There's a right time for everything. Love isn't a faucet you turn on when you want it and off when you don't. Once awakened, it stirs up everything inside you: your thoughts, your decisions, your sleep, your plans. And when it's awakened at the wrong time, with the wrong person, it can leave a pain that takes a long time to heal.
Maybe you're feeling pressure right now — from friends, from social media, from the sense that "everyone already has someone." That pressure is real. But it shouldn't set your pace. The right pace is the one God writes for you.
Waiting isn't standing still. It's continuing to grow, dream, serve, and flourish — while God works behind the scenes. Often, when you're busy being who God wants you to be, the right things arrive without you having to force anything.
Love that's worth having doesn't need to be forced. It doesn't arrive on desperation's timetable — it arrives at the right time. Trust that.
Prayer
Father, help me trust Your timing. Let me not chase after what isn't mine yet. Sustain my heart while I wait. Amen.
