Day 17 — Young Woman of Faith
Trust, Even Without Understanding
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
There's a tension every thoughtful young woman feels: you want to understand before you trust. Makes sense, right? Analyze, weigh things out, be sure before taking the step. But God asks for something more radical: trust with all your heart, even without having all the answers.
"Lean not on your own understanding" doesn't mean you should be naive or stop thinking. It means your understanding has limits — and God's doesn't. It means that in the moment the path stops making sense to you, that's exactly where faith steps in.
Sometimes the decision God calls you to make seems illogical. The person He wants you to forgive seems undeserving. The waiting He asks for seems too long. The "no" you sense from Him feels unfair.
But He sees what you can't. Trust. It isn't blind or passive — it's active, courageous, and grounded in who He has shown Himself to be.
Prayer
Father, it's hard for me to trust when I don't understand. Help me believe in Your character even when circumstances don't make sense. May my heart rest in You. Amen.
