Day 10Young Woman of Faith

Loved Before Being Perfect

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:10

One of the hardest things to believe when you're young — or at any stage — is that you can be loved before you deserve it. The world's logic says: prove your worth, then you receive love. Be good enough, pretty enough, successful enough.

But God's love moves in the opposite direction.

He loved first. When you were still far away, still making mistakes, still doubting, still hadn't done anything extraordinary — He already loved you. That love isn't a reward for your performance. It's grace. It's a gift. It's who He is.

That changes everything. You don't have to chase after God's love as if it were a prize to win. You can rest in it. You can fail, get back up, and keep going, knowing that love was already there before — and will keep being there.

Being loved before being perfect is the most solid foundation for a life with purpose. Build on that.

Prayer

Lord, it's hard to receive love without feeling like I need to earn it. Help me rest in Your love — which arrived before my merits and remains after my mistakes. Amen.
