Day 86Goodnight, Lord

Give God Your Racing Mind

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24

Some nights the mind turns into a whirlwind: too many thoughts, all at once, and you just can't switch it off. Instead of fighting that noise on your own, invite God right into the middle of it. Ask Him to search your heart, to organize what's a mess, to shine light on what's confusing. You don't have to solve every thought before you sleep; you can hand them over to God and let Him tend to whatever is stirred up inside. He knows your mind better than you do, and He knows how to quiet it. Tonight, instead of trying to force your thoughts into silence, lay them open before God and ask Him to still them and guide you. Let go of the whirlwind into His hands. Whoever hands their mind over to God finds a stillness they could never produce on their own. Rest: He even takes care of your thoughts.

Prayer

Father, my mind won't stop. Search my heart, put what is confused into order, and quiet my thoughts. I hand them over to You and rest in Your care. Amen.
