Day 72Goodnight, Lord

The Anchor of the Soul

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast.

Hebrews 6:19

When the night brings uncertainty, the soul becomes like a loose boat, tossed by the waves of your thoughts. But hope in God is an anchor — sure and steadfast. It doesn't stop the waves from coming, but it stops you from being swept away by them. However rough the sea of your mind is tonight, there is a fixed point holding you: the faithfulness of God, which never moves. You may sway, but you will not drift, because you are anchored in Him. Tonight, instead of trying to calm the sea on your own, hold on to the anchor. Remember that whatever happens, God remains steady, and you are bound to Him. Rest in that security. The anchor of your soul is set in ground no storm can shake. Sleep steady, even in the sway.

Prayer

Father, my soul is restless, but You are my anchor, sure and steadfast. Even in the sway, I will not drift, because I am bound to You. I rest anchored in You. Amen.
