Day 62Goodnight, Lord

The Peace of Knowing He Is in Control

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

There is a gentle command in this verse, and it's exactly what the night calls for: be still. It's not just about being physically still; it's about quieting yourself within, about stopping the urge to fix everything, and remembering who God is. "I am God" — not you. What relief. The weight of keeping everything under control was never yours to carry. When you recognize that God is in command, the restlessness loses its grip. You don't have to hold up the universe; He already does. Tonight, before you sleep, practice this act of faith: quiet your body, quiet your mind, and slowly repeat that God is God and is in control of everything that worries you. Let go. Whoever knows that God reigns can sleep in peace, because the government of the world — and of your life — rests in steady hands.

Prayer

Father, I still myself before You. You are God, and I am not. I release the control that was never mine and rest knowing You reign over everything that troubles me. Amen.
