Day 59 — Goodnight, Lord
To rest is to trust
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way.”
Psalm 37:7
Rest, at its core, is an act of trust. When you stop, let go of control, and sleep, you are telling God: "I trust that the world doesn't depend on me." Anxiety does the opposite — it insists you must always be alert, always doing, always fixing. But the Word invites us to rest and to wait, without irritation, without comparison, without hurry. You don't need to grow agitated over what others have or what you still lack. There is a time of God's for everything, and until it arrives, your place is confident rest. Tonight, truly choose to rest in the Lord. Not just laying your body down, but surrendering your heart. Wait on Him without distress. Those who trust are able to stop — and those who stop in God's hands sleep in peace.
Prayer
Lord, I rest in You and I wait, without irritation and without hurry. I trust that Your timing is better than my restlessness. Quiet me and grant me peaceful sleep. Amen.
