Day 92 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Peace as Inheritance
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
Jesus didn't promise the absence of trouble. He promised peace within the trouble. That's the difference that changes everything.
"In the world ye shall have tribulation" — no exceptions. It won't be different for you just because you believe. The world is the world, and it holds real difficulties. But you don't face those difficulties alone, and you're not without the inner resources to meet them.
"I have overcome the world" — perfect tense in Greek: it already happened, with effects that continue. Jesus's victory isn't in the future. It's already accomplished. And you're standing on the winning side.
"Be of good cheer" — be courageous, full of heart. Not because life is easy, but because the One who overcame is with you. The peace Jesus gives isn't naive — it knows the trouble and remains anyway. Because it's anchored in Him, not in circumstances.
This month, you walked 31 days in search of peace. It wasn't waiting at the end of some achievement — it was inside a presence. He is peace. And He is with you.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for not leaving me alone in the middle of trouble. You have already overcome everything that frightens me. Fill me with good cheer today, and guard that peace in my heart — today and always. Amen.
