Day 89 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Peace With Your Past
“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”
Psalm 32:1
Much anxiety isn't about the future — it's about the past. Guilt over wrong decisions. Shame over who you used to be. Fear that someone will find out. The weight of things you did, or didn't do when you should have.
David wrote this psalm after one of the greatest failures of his life. And he began with "blessed" — happy, favored, protected. Why? Because the transgression was forgiven. The sin was covered.
"Covered" in Hebrew is like covering with a cloak — hiding completely from view. Not half-forgiven. Not forgiven yet unforgotten. Covered.
The blood of Jesus covers. Completely. And what is covered by Him can no longer accuse you. If God has forgiven, the past no longer has the right to hold you captive. You are free to walk in freedom.
Prayer
Father, help me receive the forgiveness that has already been given. Free me from the weight of a past already covered by the blood of Jesus. I want to walk free, not chained to what has already been forgiven. Amen.
