Day 70Closer to God — 365 Days

Peace at All Times, in Every Way

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

2 Thessalonians 3:16

"By all means." That phrase amazes me. Not just peace during quiet-time mornings, not just peace when everything is fine, not just peace when you slept well and the coffee turned out just right. Peace by all means.

In traffic. In the argument with your husband. In the doctor's appointment with an uncertain result. In the moment your child doesn't answer the phone. By all means.

This is the Lord of peace — not merely the giver of peace, but its Lord. Peace belongs to Him, and wherever He is, it is. That's why the blessing ends with "the Lord be with you all." His presence is the very source.

Today you can ask boldly: "Lord of peace, give me peace — the kind only You know how to give, in every moment, in every way I need it." He answers that prayer. It's the kind of prayer that's aligned with His own heart.

Prayer

Lord of peace, today I want to experience that peace by all means. In the hard moments, in the simple ones, I want to feel You near. Amen.
