Day 38Closer to God — 365 Days

Casting All Your Care on Him

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Anxiety tries to convince you that it deserves your full attention. It says: think about me, stay with me, don't ignore me. And the more you obey, the bigger it grows. But there is an instruction that goes against this pattern: casting.

Casting all your anxiety on Him. Not part of it. All of it. The small everyday anxiety and the big anxiety that keeps you up at night. All of it can be brought to God — not as a complaint, but as surrender. Because He cares for you, and that care is real, attentive, loving.

When you cast it, it doesn't mean the problem has disappeared. It means you've stopped carrying it alone. And carrying it together with God is completely different from carrying it alone. The lightness doesn't come from having a life without weight. It comes from knowing you don't walk with that weight resting only on your own shoulders.

Prayer

Lord, today I hand over to You every anxiety weighing on my heart. Receive all of it and let me feel the weight of Your care for me. May I never have to carry alone what You are willing to carry with me. Amen.
