Day 325Closer to God — 365 Days

Waiting Is Not Wasted

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Micah 7:7

The prophet Micah was in a moment of total abandonment. The structures around him had failed — corrupt leaders, treacherous neighbors, a family he could no longer trust. Yet he declares with an almost startling confidence: therefore I will wait.

That word "therefore" is precious. Everything around him could be crumbling — but there is a fixed point. A but, a therefore, that changes the direction of the sentence and of the heart.

Waiting is not a waste of time. It is an act of faith that shapes you as time passes. Whoever learns to wait on God does not stand still — they are being formed, deepened, prepared.

And the prophet ends with a simple certainty: my God will hear me. Not "maybe," not "if I deserve it." My God will hear me. With the confidence of a son or daughter who knows the Father answers when they call.

You can wait with that same certainty.

Prayer

Lord, I wait for You. I choose Your timing over my own. And I trust that when I cry out, You will hear me. Amen.
