Day 324Closer to God — 365 Days

Promises That Sustain

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Psalm 138:8

David held a certainty that held up everything else: the Lord will perfect what concerns me. As if to say: whatever concerns me, God takes care of. It isn't my responsibility to carry the weight of my own destiny.

What freedom that can be.

You don't have to secure your own future. You don't have to force the right doors open, don't have to manipulate outcomes, don't have to live in constant anxiety about what's coming. The Lord will perfect what concerns Him — and everything that concerns Him regarding you.

God's goodness endures forever. It has no expiration date. It doesn't run out when you fail. It doesn't diminish when things get worse. It is constant, unshakable, eternal.

You are the work of His hands. And He does not abandon what He made.

Prayer

Father, thank You that what concerns me, You will fulfill. I release the weight of control and rest in Your goodness that endures forever. I am the work of Your hands — and You take care of me. Amen.
