Day 301Closer to God — 365 Days

The Inheritance That Never Fades

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.

1 Peter 1:4

When we talk about provision, we tend to think of what is temporary — money, health, a home. And God cares about all of that. But Peter reminds us of a provision that goes beyond everything: an inheritance kept in heaven that never perishes, never spoils, never fades. Incorruptible. While everything around us can wear out — jobs, relationships, health, possessions — there is an inheritance that no crisis can touch. Kept. Secure. For you. This isn't escapism — it's perspective. The person who knows they have an eternal inheritance can live more lightly in the temporary. They can be more generous. They can care less about accumulating and more about serving. Because the best is still to come, and no one can take away what is coming.

Prayer

Lord, let my eternal inheritance give me peace over what is passing. Let me live with the lightness of one who knows the best is kept safe. Amen.
