Day 299Closer to God — 365 Days

The Grateful Heart That Returns

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Luke 17:15

Ten lepers were healed. Only one turned back to give thanks. Jesus noticed. "Where are the other nine?" wasn't a question of judgment — it was almost a sorrow. Gratitude isn't merely spiritual etiquette. It's an act of love in response to God's love. When we receive blessings and move on without pausing to acknowledge them, something closes up in the heart. But when we turn back — like the Samaritan — with genuine praise, we become more aware of the grace surrounding us. And that awareness feeds more gratitude, which opens the heart further, which draws us closer to God. Be the tenth one who turns back. When God answers a prayer, when a blessing arrives — stop, turn back, give thanks. He deserves that moment.

Prayer

Lord, may I always be the one who turns back. May I never take Your grace for granted. Thank You for every healing, every provision, every answer. Amen.
