Day 283 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Enter With Praise
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Psalm 100:4
There's a way to enter God's presence — and Psalm 100 shows us: with thanksgiving and with praise. Not with a list of requests in hand right from the start. Not with the day's complaints. With gratitude. This doesn't mean God doesn't want to hear our requests and laments — He does, and the Psalms are full of them. But when gratitude opens the door of our prayer, the heart arrives in a different place. It arrives recognizing who God is before saying what it needs. And in that recognition, something settles in the soul. Today, before you ask, before you complain, before anything else — enter your conversation with God through the door of gratitude. Say what you're thankful for. And watch how His presence feels closer when the heart arrives that way.
Prayer
Lord, may I learn to enter Your presence with gratitude. May praise be my first language with You, before any request. Amen.
