Day 186Closer to God — 365 Days

Tears That Find Comfort

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Matthew 5:4

Our culture doesn't much care for tears. "Don't cry," "stay strong," "look ahead" — these are the phrases we hear when pain shows up. But Jesus said something completely different: blessed are those who mourn.

That doesn't mean pain is good in itself. It means that whoever weeps will be comforted. There's a promise attached to tears — not the ones we hold back, but the ones we let fall before God.

Crying before the Father is an act of trust. It's saying, "I'm not okay, and I know You're big enough to hold this with me." It's a form of prayer without words.

If you're going through a season of tears — over a loss, a disappointment, a dream that never came — know that this weeping isn't weakness. It's the beginning of an encounter with the Comforter. And He never fails. Comfort is coming.

Prayer

God, today I let my tears fall before You. I won't hold them back anymore. Comfort my heart with Your presence. Amen.
