Day 172 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Confiding in God
“The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him.”
Psalm 25:14
There's something precious in this word "secret." In the original Hebrew, the idea is of an intimate, confidential conversation — like when two people who love each other speak in low voices, sharing things they wouldn't tell just anyone.
God has secrets to share with you. Guidance that only those who are close receive. Understanding that doesn't come through study, but through intimacy. Gentle revelations that happen in the silence of encounter.
But there is a condition — not a condition of merit, but of posture: "those who fear him." Fearing God isn't being afraid of Him like a tyrant. It's recognizing who He is — great, holy, full of love — and living in reverence before that.
When you cultivate this posture, something changes in your time of prayer and in your reading of the Bible. You no longer come as someone who has to fulfill an obligation — you come as someone who has been invited into an intimate conversation with the King of the Universe.
Prayer
Lord, let me be among those with whom You share Your secrets. Teach me to fear You with love and to listen for Your voice. Amen.
