Day 17Closer to God — 365 Days

Tired of Being Strong

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:29

There's a kind of tiredness that sleep doesn't fix. It's the exhaustion of holding everything together — the family, the bills, the emotions, other people's faith. Of being the strong one in the story while inside you're falling apart.

God sees that tiredness too. He doesn't just see physical exhaustion — He sees the weariness of someone who has no strength left. The Hebrew word here carries the idea of complete collapse, of having nowhere left to turn.

And it's exactly for that level of exhaustion that God has an answer: He gives. He doesn't lend, doesn't share what He has — He gives. Multiplying what doesn't exist, creating strength where there was only emptiness.

You don't have to pretend you're okay to receive from God. You can come exactly as you are — broken, depleted, with nothing left in reserve — and He takes care of it.

Stop trying to be strong on your own today. Let the strength come from Him.

Prayer

God, I'm tired of trying to find strength I don't have. Today I ask You to fill me with Yours — the strength that never runs out and doesn't depend on me. Sustain me today. Amen.
