Day 154 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The First Request
“Lord, teach us to pray.”
Luke 11:1
Do you know what moves me about this scene? The disciples had seen Jesus heal, multiply loaves, calm storms. And even so, their request wasn't "teach us to do miracles." It was: "teach us to pray." They realized that everything Jesus did was born there, in that secret place with the Father.
You can make this same request today. It doesn't matter how long you've been a Christian, it doesn't matter if your prayers sometimes feel dry or disorganized. The desire to draw near to God is already a prayer in itself.
There is no perfect formula. There is no right posture. There is a son or daughter coming to meet the Father, with an open heart, saying, "I need You." And for God, that is enough. More than enough.
Start today. Even if it's with only a few words. Even if it's with silence. The school of prayer has no entrance exam — you're already in.
Prayer
Lord, like the disciples, I ask You too: teach me to pray. Teach me to be still before You. Teach me to trust that You hear me. Amen.
