Day 124 — Closer to God — 365 Days
He Rejoices Over You
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17
Imagine someone important to you showed up at your door today — and just seeing your face, that person simply smiled. No need for you to have done anything special. Just seeing you made them happy.
That's how God looks at you.
Zephaniah wrote to a people who had failed, who had gone astray. And even so, God said: I rejoice over you. I sing over you. These words were given precisely when no one deserved to hear them.
Many people carry the image of a serious God, always with arms crossed, hard to please. But this verse shows another picture: a God who sings for joy over you. Not for what you produced. For you.
Today you can rest in this. You don't need to earn God's smile — it's already there, in His eyes, every time He sees you.
Prayer
Father, it's hard to believe You rejoice over me like this. But I choose to trust this truth today. May it heal the places where I feel unloved. Amen.
