Day 100Closer to God — 365 Days

The Lord Is My Light

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

David asked two questions that need no answer: whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid? The answer is implied: no one. Because when the Lord is your light and your strength, fear finds no place to settle.

Light and salvation. Strength and protection. David wasn't describing a life without problems — he had many. He was describing a life with the right presence beside him.

Have you ever noticed how everything looks bigger and scarier in the dark? A simple noise becomes a threat. A shadow becomes a monster. That's how fear works: it distorts reality in the absence of light.

But when the light comes, the shadows disappear. And God is the light that undoes every distortion. In His light, problems return to their real size. Threats lose their power. And you see the path ahead clearly.

Let His light illuminate your day today.

Prayer

Lord, You are my light. Wherever there is darkness in my heart or my situation, illuminate it with Your presence. Amen.
