Grateful for the Home I Have

“How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.”

Psalm 84:1-2

Maybe your home isn't large, maybe the roof still leaks, maybe the neighborhood isn't the one you dreamed of. But today I want you to look at that home with different eyes: it is shelter, it is where you rest, it is where your family gathers at night, it is where the walls hold your laughter and even your tears.

Just as the psalmist's soul fainted with longing for the courts of the temple, I want you to learn to love the space that shelters you today, even if it isn't perfect. A home doesn't need to be large to be sacred — it becomes sacred through the care you pour into it, through the prayers prayed within it, through the family that gathers there.

Keep dreaming of a bigger home, if that is your desire, and I will walk with you in that dream. But don't let the home of your dreams steal your gratitude for the home you have today. Every roof that has sheltered you until now was provision from me, even when you didn't realize it.
