Grateful for the Health I Have
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 1:2
Today I want to remind you to give thanks for the health you have, even if it isn't perfect, even if there's a test result still pending or a chronic pain that stays with you. So many people only value their health once it's gone completely, and I don't want that for you.
If you woke up, breathed without effort, walked to the kitchen without unbearable pain, ate with pleasure — that alone is reason for gratitude that so many people in your city don't have today. And if your body's health is fragile, look at the health of your soul: you can still pray, you can still love, you can still trust in me.
It has always been my desire that you would prosper in all things. While I work on your healing, whether complete or gradual, practice gratitude for what already works in your body today. That strengthens not only your soul, but also helps your body respond better to treatment and to time.
Declare today
I choose to give thanks for the health I have today, trusting the Father with what still needs healing.
Pray
Father, thank You for the health I have today. Care for what still hurts, and strengthen my soul in the meantime.
📓 Something to think about today
What in my body is working well today that I've stopped thanking you for because I focus only on what hurts?
