I Use the Small, Not the Great

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.”

1 Corinthians 1:27

You told me, deep in your heart, that you don't feel capable. That there are people more prepared, more educated, more talented to do what you dream of doing. I want to tell you a secret that runs through my whole history with my people: I almost never choose the most prepared.

Moses stuttered. David was the youngest, the forgotten one out in the field with the sheep. Gideon hid in fear of the enemy. And still I used them, not in spite of their weakness, but sometimes precisely because of it — because when someone small does something great, it becomes clear to everyone that the strength came from me.

You do not need to feel ready for me to use you. You just need to be willing. Your weakness is not an obstacle in my plan — it is the very place where my strength shows itself best.
