Serve Where Your Feet Are Standing

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Today I saw you looking at your neighbor's life, thinking their purpose seems bigger, more beautiful, more important than yours. My son, my daughter, I do not need you to shine in someone else's place. I need you to shine in your own.

The light I placed in you was not made to be kept, waiting for a bigger stage. It was made to light up the home you live in, the job you show up to every day, the people who cross your path without an appointment. It is there, in the ordinary, that your light makes more of a difference than you imagine.

Don't wait to be sent far away to finally serve. Start exactly where you are standing right now. A kind word, simple help, a faithful presence — this also glorifies the Father who is in heaven.
