21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Verse explanation
The image is that of a guest waiting to be welcomed to a meal, a custom of hospitality well known at the time. It is not a demand imposed from outside, but an invitation: the decision to open the door rests with the one inside.
