Read it in context
The verses around Matthew 6:10.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Verse explanation
Asking that God’s will be done “in earth, as it is in heaven” ties the next request, for daily bread, to a bigger vision: that the order of heaven extend to the concrete things of life on earth.
