37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Verse explanation
This is the first of several times Jesus uses the expression “I am” followed by an image — bread, light, door, way, among others — throughout this Gospel. “I am,” on its own, was also how God introduced Himself to Moses in the book of Exodus, so the expression carries more weight than a simple introduction.
