Day 4 — Mornings with God
God First
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33
First. Not whenever there's time left over. Not when the kids are finally asleep and you can sit down. First.
It's hard, isn't it? The morning has so many things shouting for attention. The phone lights up with notifications. The coffee gets cold. The laundry needs to come out of the machine. Lunch needs to be thought through. And somewhere in the middle of all that you want to seek God — but life has already started without Him.
Jesus said: seek first. Not "don't forget about God." Not "fit God in." First.
When God comes first, it's not that everything else disappears. It's that everything else takes on a different proportion. The things that seemed urgent reveal their true size. What seemed impossible to carry, you remember you're not carrying alone.
Putting God first in the morning doesn't take time away from your day. It organizes it.
Try it. Before you open Instagram, before you check your messages, ten minutes with God. Just ten. And watch what changes.
Prayer
Lord, I want You to be first — not only in my words but in my mornings. Help me seek Your kingdom before I seek anything else. Amen.
